Cancelations and Refunds

Last Updated: January 28, 2026

This policy outlines the terms related to deposits, cancellations, refunds, and charter credits for charters booked with SoCal Yacht Charters.

Deposits & Payments:

A deposit equal to 50% of the total charter cost is required to secure your reservation. Charter dates are not held until the deposit is received.

The remaining balance and payment timeline will be communicated during the booking process and must be completed prior to departure.

Guest Cancellations:

Charters canceled at least 10 days prior to the scheduled departure date are eligible for a full refund of the deposit.

Cancellations made within 10 days of the scheduled charter date are non-refundable. In these cases, the deposit will be converted into a charter credit that may be applied toward a future booking, subject to availability.

Charter Credits:

Charter credits issued due to late guest cancellations:

  • Are valid for 18 months from the original charter date
  • May be applied toward a future charter with SoCal Yacht Charters
  • Are subject to availability and scheduling constraints
  • Are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash

Credits must be applied at the time of booking a new charter.

Weather & Safety-Related Changes:

Our crew closely monitors weather forecasts and marine conditions in the days leading up to your scheduled charter. If conditions indicate that rescheduling may be necessary, we will make every effort to notify guests in advance whenever possible.

Despite careful planning, marine conditions can change quickly. In some cases, it may be necessary to cancel a charter on the day of departure, adjust the itinerary while underway, or return to port earlier than planned in order to ensure guest safety. Decisions regarding weather, routing, and operation are made at the discretion of the captain, with safety as the top priority.

If offshore conditions are deemed unsafe, we may offer the option to enjoy a charter aboard one of our yachts within the harbor, allowing guests to spend time on the water in a safe and comfortable setting. When available, this alternative experience may be offered at a discounted rate.

Charters affected by weather or safety-related considerations do not count as guest cancellations. In these cases, we will work with guests to reschedule the charter or provide a refund when appropriate.

In the event that a charter is shortened due to weather or safety-related considerations, our team will review the circumstances on a case-by-case basis and determine a fair resolution. When appropriate, this may include a partial refund or a credit toward a future charter.

Modifications:

Requests to modify charter dates, duration, itinerary, or vessel selection are subject to availability and may result in pricing adjustments.

No-Shows:

Failure to arrive at the scheduled departure time without prior notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit and any remaining balance.

Additional Agreements:

Additional terms, waivers, or agreements may apply depending on the charter type, duration, vessel, or activities involved. These will be provided during the booking process and may be required prior to boarding.
